🌟 ILP Summit 🌟
One of the big lighting industry events each year is the ILP Summit and this year it was held in Glasgow.
Our Directors, Andrew Longman and Alistair Scott, along with Senior Lighting Engineer Connor MacDonald, travelled up for the 2 days and as always, enjoyed catching up with industry contacts. This years focus was on subjects such as sustainability, smart city integration and biodiversity-friendly urban lighting. Another regular feature was the CPD-accredited technical talks, interactive workshops (notably on artificial lighting and bats), and a keynote to inspire future-forward thinking, it’s worth its weight in gold for your young staff who’ve just joined the industry. It’s always a perfect opportunity to touch base with the lighting manufacturers who exhibit there, to see what new products they’ve brought out.
Interesting Lighting Fact: Glasgow was one of the early adopters of electric street lighting in the UK. By the early 20th century, the city had extensive electric lighting infrastructure, showcasing its role in the industrial and technological revolutions.
