Our team gets to work on some of today’s most ambitious and challenging lighting projects, providing creative, cost-effective and environmentally conscious solutions — and we have fun whilst doing it! We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality designs, combined with expert advice from our team, some of whom are recognised as the most experienced industry professionals in the UK.

We work on a diverse range of projects including Architectural lighting designs and highly acclaimed sensitive lighting schemes and are well regarded within the industry for our lighting impact assessments.

For those starting out in lighting, our Learning and Mentoring Program is an initiative created by DFL-UK to train and develop the next generation of lighting professionals and we have just two places left.

The training is a unique blend of formal accredited courses by professional institutions, Institution of Lighting Professionals (ILP) and the Highway Electrical Association (HEA),and in-house courses, mentoring and training, aiming to take a Technician from knowing very little about lighting to a competent Engineer in 3 years, achieving professional qualifications including Associate Membership of the ILP (AMILP), professional accreditation to Engineering Technician (EngTech) level and Approved Person status from the HEA HERS scheme at the same time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Your main responsibilities will be to assist in the preparation of detailed designs and associated activities for delivery of Lighting and/or Electrical schemes.

• You will work with the Department Lead and Engineers to ensure scheme designs and works are delivered on time and to budget, delivering best value for our clients.

• Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to understand and develop project objectives/deliverables.

• Build and develop excellent customer relationships.

• Health and Safety, Environmental and CDM Documentation

• Liaison with the clients and other stakeholders, compliant with their processes and reporting requirements.

• Co-operate with the Directors of the company in ensuring the safety of yourself and all of those around you whilst at work.

• Ensure that any accidents or Health and Safety incidents are properly reported to the company Health and Safety Representative. Ensure that Health & Safety and Environmental issues are properly taken into account during all phases of project work.

Qualifications:

• HNC, HND or Degree in an Engineering, Architecture or Ecology subject to Grade 2.2 or above.

• Computer literate, particularly with design packages to include the Microsoft suite of software.

• UK/EEC Driving Licence essential or planning to learn soon.
